Periodic Service Tips

Model railroad locomotives are electro-mechanical machines that require periodic service. Unlike the prototype, this service is not required every day, but over periods of months to years or when something seems to have degraded.

Periodic service usually amounts to lubrication. I've written a page that was originally targeted to HO scale locomotives but it occurred to me that much of that information is applicable to large scale as well.
